"Many people speak about local food these days, but I know of no farmer more local than Russ Ohrt, growing and selling food from our local soils in the back and front yards of Strathcona and Kirkendall neighbourhoods. My wife Elaine and I were excited to sign up for one of the CSA shares in Russ' first year in Strathcona. We have very fond memories of wandering a couple of streets over to Peter Street and choosing fresh, tasty veggies from Russ. It has only got better since that time at Russ' farm stand at the Locke Street Farmers' Market. Great food from a great Hamiltonian: what could be better!"
